Thumbs up from me for those who fancy this genre.Hitting Once you've hired and placed your mercenaries, tappers and guards, you're Metavira's ready for your first hard-core mission. Despite its shortcomings, Jagged Alliance: Rage! gets more things right than it gets wrong and even though it’s not the best tactical game I’ve ever played before fans of these game’s will get something good out of this game. Even though there’s variety in both the story and characters I would still recommend that you play the game in short sittings because it does get repetitive quickly. That being said while these issues were cumbersome at times I was able to look past them thanks to the decent story and different characters at my disposal. I think I would’ve gotten even more satisfaction from these elements if the game didn’t suffer with the technical issues it undoubtedly has. Without a doubt my favorite mechanic in this game was its stealth and I must admit that I always got a great sense of satisfaction when taking down an enemy this way. At it’s core this game is a tactical RPG and while it doesn’t offer anything new to this genre we haven’t already seen before they still do well with the mechanics that are present. I’ve never played a Jagged Alliance game before but I have heard quite a few good things about the series and it’s quite obvious that it has a solid following. If you don’t like the tactical side of an RPG then there isn’t anything here that’s really going to change your mind. The gameplay is fun in short bursts it does tend to get repetitive. Unfortunately the game suffers with a few technical issues on the console which do hold the game back some. While the presentation side of the game isn’t going to win any awards I must admit that I liked the atmosphere that was created by both the visuals and sound design. ![]() Each character in the game you can play has been created really well and the different moves each character has means that they all feel important. I found the story to be enjoyable for the most part because it mixes in different emotions, while also not taking itself too seriously at the same time. The stealth mechanics in the game have been done really well and if successful with them you get a satisfying feeling when you defeat enemies. ![]()
